Marine Chemistry involves the certification of confined spaces and other hazardous environments as safe for human entry and hot work. A Certified Marine Chemist will visually inspect the space and test for explosive vapors, Oxygen concentrations, Hydrogen Sulfide, Carbon Monoxide, and other toxic atmospheres.
